The attribution of this guitar, built under the family firm’s Miguel Rodríguez label, is Rafael Rodríguez (1921-1965), one of twin guitar making sons of the founder, Miguel Rodríguez Sr. (1888-1975).

The soundboard is made from matched halves of clear, straight-grained spruce with nearly constant 18 per inch grain spacing. The rosette has a central design band of thin black mosaic diamonds overlaid with a red continuous squarewave pattern on a natural-colored field bounded by concentric circles and outer bands of strong green with natural dots. The bridge is made of rosewood with bone edge strips on its tie-block. The bass and treble golpeadors are thin white celluloid.

Back and sides are straight-grained cypress. There is double purfling on the top and bottom edges. Neck and head are cedar and the head is faced with rosewood to match the bridge. The fingerboard is made from ebony and has medium-height frets. The guitar has its original French polish of shellac finish.  The Rodríguez Cordoba luthier stamp appears on the back of the head and on the bass side of the inner soundboard.

The sound is bright, insistent and quick. Trebles are balanced and controlled, with a nice mix of brilliance and bite. This guitar is in excellent condition.
