The soundboard is made of three pieces of wavy-grained spruce. One soundboard seam is 5 inches from the edge of the bass bout and the other seam is 4 inches from the edge of the treble bout. These seams are reinforced with small chamfered cleats. The rosette has an inner group of six black circles separated by a single red circle from an outer group of six more black circles. The bridge is of rosewood with two mother-of-pearl dots on its wings, and its tie-block has rounded corners and is topped with ivory.

The three-piece back and the sides are made of cypress with non-matching grain. Neck and head are mahogany with the head faced with rosewood. The fingerboard is rosewood with medium-height frets.

The sound is especially full-bodied for a small guitar. Tones are well balanced with good projection and fairly good sustain except for a few high notes on the first string. This guitar is in excellent condition with little evidence of prior playing. The soundboard still has its original French polish of shellac finish.
