Economical materials, plain head with peg tuners, plain aesthetic, lack of a nineteenth fret, work-saving rosette, and simple soundboard bracing classify this guitar as an inexpensive model for the casual player. However, the nicely matched sides and back halves and the straight-grained neck show that it was built with excellent workmanship. The soundboard is made from matched halves of spruce with a grain spacing of 8 to 10 per inch. The rosette has alternating concentric black and natural rings combined with a center ring of red. The bridge is carved from walnut and its tie-block is topped with a thin plate of ivory-like plastic.

Back and sides are walnut with single purfling on the top. The back is laminated for strength. Neck and head are mahogany with the face of the head veneered with wavy-grained walnut to complement the bridge. Tuning pegs are dyed wood with mother-of-pearl dots inset into the small ends. The fingerboard is walnut with low brass T- shaped frets.
