Barbero is regarded as an essential maker of flamenco guitars and a definer of the true art of flamenco guitar making.

The soundboard of this guitar is made of two pieces of spruce with slightly blurred grain. The rosette has a central pattern band of red and black lozenges set in a black background bordered with concentric circles and herringbone bands. The bridge is rosewood with its tie-block edged in bone. The treble golpeador is white plastic and the bass one is clear plastic.

Back and sides are made from clear cypress with single purfling and rosewood edging. Neck and head are cedar with the face of the head veneered with rosewood and fitted with ebony tuning pegs. The fingerboard is ebony with medium frets.

Harmonic bars and crossbars have scalloped ends and rest on short triangular rib-blocks. The center joint of the back is reinforced with a strip of cross-grained cypress. Barbero’s Madrid luthier stamp appears on the foot of the heel-block.

This guitar is in excellent condition.
