This guitar is a nice looking instrument of moderate quality. The highly domed soundboard is made of three unmatched pieces of straight-grained spruce with grain spacing of 12 to 24 per inch. The rosette has a circular pattern of mother-of-pearl flowers, stars and geometric diamonds set into a black mastic background.

The bridge is dyed wood and its tie-block, with narrow string spacing (52.5mm), is capped with ivory colored plastic. The three-piece back and the sides are cypress with dyed wood purfling. Neck and head are cedar with the face of the head veneered with dyed wood. The fingerboard has 19 large frets. The inexpensive tuning machines have thin steel barrels and small bone grips, and the spur gears are pulled towards their worm gears by string tension, the norm for that time.

This guitar makes good music for flamenco sessions or personal pleasure. This vintage guitar has survived over 130 years and is still in very good condition, a rarity for an instrument expected to be played day in and day out.
