This Borreguero is an example of a mid-priced guitar. It has been restored, not because it is a great musical guitar, but because of its rarity and historical significance. The result is a structurally sound, nice-looking guitar, with a pleasant, dark, old Spanish tone with some noticeably uneven notes.
The soundboard is made of two matched pieces of spruce with slightly wavy grain. The rosette has a central band of mosaic diamond pattern bordered by red, black and natural rings and bands. The bridge is rosewood with its tie-block having edges and center strip of bone. The sides are Indian rosewood. The three-piece back has two outer panels of Indian rosewood and an inner panel of Brazilian rosewood. Neck and head are cedar. The fingerboard is ebony with medium frets.
