This is an economical tablao-style guitar, but it shows workmanship of higher quality and is in better condition than expected for this type and age of guitar. The domed soundboard, typical of this style, is made of three pieces of clear unmatched spruce. The two outer pieces have grain spacing of 14 per inch and the inner piece’s grain spacing is 20 per inch. The rosette has 36 separate wood rings of six different thicknesses in dark brown, light brown, natural and red. Back and sides are of good quality cypress. The neck and head are of cedar and the face of the head is veneered with dyed wood. The head is fitted with rosewood tuning pegs having mother-of-pearl insets, and has a single drilled hole for a string or ribbon. The fingerboard is of dyed wood with medium frets.

The sound is good with surprising verve in the upper register and a warm timbre to all notes.
