The soundboard is made of matched spruce halves with grain spacing varying from 30 per inch in the center to 16 per inch at the edges. The rosette has a center band of mosaic crosses flanked by bands of herringbone. The bridge is made of rosewood with its tie-block edged with protective strips. The two-piece back of Indian rosewood has a double strip of green inlay at the center joint which is continued in the veneer on the heel of the neck. The mahogany neck and head are joined with a V- joint. The front of the head is veneered with rosewood with a double inlay of green strips in the center. The ebony fingerboard has low frets.

The curved lower harmonic bar was a radical innovation of Hauser II. In theory, it gives added freedom of movement to the soundboard. Harmonic bars and crossbars have scalloped ends with the scallop at the treble end of the lower harmonic bar beginning at the edge of the soundhole. The center seam of the back is reinforced with a strip of cross-grained mahogany. There are thin triangular rib-blocks at the back brace stations. Hauser II switched from French polish finishes to sprayed lacquer and this guitar is so finished.

This instrument is in excellent condition. Tone is bright and concentrated. Sound emerges from the instrument with great projection and with characteristic Hauser clarity, apparent in both bass and treble.
