The soundboard is made from halves of straight-grained spruce with an average spacing of 20 per inch. The rosette is wider than most (29mm) and has a central band of mosaic diamonds, squares and stars, outlined with discrete dots surrounded by several circles. Peripheral bands of square-wave patterns alternated with tiny sunbursts complete a complicated rosette. The rosewood bridge has its tie-block edged with mother-of-pearl and inside this edging are nested rectangles surrounding a center field of the squarewave/sunburst pattern matching the rosette. The soundboard has wide (7mm) purfling that also features the square-wave line/sunburst pattern and 12 design lines in green, black and natural.

Back and sides are of perfectly quartersawn Brazilian rosewood and are seamed and edged with a wide purfling of half-herringbone. Neck and head are close-grained cedar and the neck has a broad rounded heel. The head is faced with black ebony carved in a floral pattern, and the slots are surrounded with small inlaid alternating mother-of-pearl and reddish-brown squares. The fingerboard is ebony with medium frets. The tuning machine plates are engraved with intricate floral patterns. Tuning grips are bone, and the rollers have small bollards to secure the strings.

The guitar has a pure and transcendental tone quality, midway between warm and dry. Strings work well with each other and polytones are clear. Volume is moderate with no weak notes and good sustain.
